Research Resources
A complete list of published scientific articles on drill monkeys
Here we hope to share the collective knowledge of every published study that has featured or included the drill monkey as an online resource for anyone interested. We at the Drill Project hope that we can provide the resources needed for others to learn about drills to better understand this species and to help preserve them for future generations.
Although it is easy to find a large number of studies focused on drills or that include this species in their study, the vast majority of them focus on the subspecies found in the mainland, Mandrillus leucophaeus leucophaeus. There is a large information gap in the scientific literature about Bioko's Drill (Mandrillus leucophaeus poensis), finding only three studies based on this species. Our main goal is to raise awareness about this unknown and little-studied species, in order to increase our knowledge of its behavioral ecology, society, communication, genetics, etc., in order to develop conservation tools that ensure the survival of this wonderful species.
If we have left something out or if you know of a recently published article not included in our list please feel free to contact us here!
